Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell

1.0

So I originally read Carry On for Simon and Baz, because I wanted gay wizards in my life. I got what I wanted almost near the end of the book. So when I found out that there's a sequel I thought, yay, they are together now, I won't get deprived the gay(tm) but this fucking book is just the fucking embodiment of the miscommunication trope! They don't talk, they just pine after each other and wait for the other one to break up with them. And the cherry on top is the ending, when they start to finally fucking talk and it ends with a cliff hanger! What the fuck! Mind you, this is not me wtf-ing because I'm excited how it's going to continue. This is me being baffled that Rowell somehow convinced herself that this was good in any shape or form.
The first half read like some weird vacation au on ao3. The second half was some weird thrown together action sequence with vampires and more plot holes than a sequel, that took years to come out, should even have!
Penelope is just aweful, Simon is literally useless in any situation other than a fight, and Agatha was the only sensible person in the whole book, since she chose to leave those morons behind, but then joined the morons by agreeing to leave with them again.

I offically give up. I'm not even adding this to my lgbt+ shelf. Fuck this series.

The only reason this is 2 stars and not one, is because of Baz. My sweet, sarcastic , America bashing Baz.
