I looked forward to Capri’s series of the Delgatos, however this 3 a loose because I enjoy the authors writing but this book was congested. I wanted to read the books because I loved how Capone started and I knew there would be series for the other books. But Capri got the short end of the stick. It was like all the characters from previous and future books were trying to make cameos and I was confused or not even interested.
I would have read the other books simply because I liked the author but now I’m unsure because 3.5 felt like a marketing plan. Capris story was LOST it was about everyone else around her. I’m glad she got her happy ever after but I was salty about this book. Main thing that bothered me was Core, Skyler, and Jeffie. Like bro please go somewhere. I don’t want to see them in no other books standalone or cameo, I’m pissed just thinking about someone sharing. No.
The final chapter and music recommendation was so nice, I loved it I usually can’t read with music on but it worked and I felt like I was in the last chapter with them in real life. It was slow, to capture every detail of the family, the closing was nice.
I’m curious how her other books will play out for this universe she’s created, she definitely put me on to urban fiction. Also, just walking prouder as a black person. She’s doing amazing things, her mind is on another level, people going to read the other books simply because we like you as a writer. Capone still my favorite though.
