Starfish, Where Are You?
by Barroux
A very versatile book to "read" with your little one (mine was just 2 when he enjoyed it). It's a really good one to encourage a toddler to speak and describe what he sees, as there is barely any text at all. Yet, there is a good, moving story with a theme of eco-responsibility. It's very easy for a young child to follow and understand.
The book introduces three sea animals: a starfish, a jellyfish and a clown fish on one double page, then you can play finding them on each page. Also, there are so many different fishes, you can introduce vocabulary like colours, size, shape, etc. As well as the name of objects that are (unfortunately) dumped in the sea, and talk about why they shouldn't be there.
The drawings are very nice and warm.
A very good book!
