It's a shame, because there are elements of this that I really like. Nightingale is interesting, as is Molly, and the world creation is intriguing.

But Peter is a very meh character to me, and I'm really tired of reading about Beverly's rack. I really don't care about her boobs. I just don't. This kind of writing is so icky to me. If this is how straight men actually think, is it any wonder women are wary? Every female character in the book seems to exist for Peter to lust over them, and they are written in the most one-dimensional, sexist manner possible.

Overall, the book isn't holding my interest either. I'm kind of dragging myself through it, and that's never a good sign. If this were about Nightingale, I might care more, but Peter just isn't a character I can identify with all that much, or that I can get overly worked up about.
