I took about a month's break in-between reading this book, which I think hampered my enjoyment of it slightly as I had forgotten a lot of the visions Paul had at the start.
I still found the book good, but the start was quite slow and confusing. You are presented with some of Paul's vision that make no sense to you (or Paul, but I guess he somehow does actually understand them) and as you read on slowly everything starts to make sense, although I'm guessing if you read this book in a shorter timespan than me you'd actually remember all of that stuff as you get to the end and things would make a lot more sense for you (I didn't).
Having said all that, I still enjoyed the cleverness of the plot once I understood what was going on, and how deep the Tleilaxu plot actually ran.
Irulan's character was your typical 50s/60s female sci-fi character which was frustrating, and Chani obviously hadn't changed, but I didn't have much issue with other characters.
