Witch Hat Atelier Vol. 9 by Kamome Shirahama, Kamome Shirahama

Reminding myself this is literally tweens battling centuries old rules put in place by people who wanted to consolidate power if on one hand for safety then on another to exclude the common man from things they could benefit from. The rules are so strict they are bound to be broken, only for any possible growth to be immediately wiped away.

It was interesting to have an interlude focused on the security branch of magic and their history - as unfortunate and painful as it was (content warnings for sexual assault). It got incredibly real in a way I did not expect for this series but I like how we are not shying away from any underbelly that should be exposed.
