My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak, Fallzswimmer

5.0

I loved this book! I’ve reread it multiple times, it’s cute yet funny! This is one of my own comfort reads. You know those books that you have that you always think fondly of and enjoy rereading it once a year? That’s this book for me. I first read this book about 3-4 years ago and I’ve reread it about 2 or 3 times. It’s a very easy reading summer book. This book focuses on the story of Jackie Howard, a sophomore who has her life turned upside down when both of her parents and her older sister are killed in a car accident. She then has to move with her mother’s old college friend, Katherine and her husband George and their 12 boys… (11 and one girl who is a tomboy) Now Jackie must adapt from her chic New York lifestyle to country living in Colorado. She also has to adjust to living with all of these boys ( a few who have definitely caught her eye). Throughout the story, Jackie gets conflicted with trying to be the person her parents always wanted her to be, while also realizing that she deserves to enjoy her life as well. I enjoyed this book because of the way the characters were written and the dialogues between them is just *chefs kiss*. This book had me laughing many times. With friends to lovers tropes as well as a possible love triangle this book will definitely not get boring! I also just found out that there is a film adaptation in the making which I am super excited for!! Definitely check this book out!!
