Threads That Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou

4.5

There is violence in kindness, and kindness in violence.

This was super interesting! I liked the writing, the characters, and the plot.

His breath warmed her nape, and she could smell the sweet detergent of his clothes. Do not, she scolded herself, be weird.

There was a lot of lore, or background or history etc and it was a little confusing at times, lots of gods and prophecy but overall, this was so fun! I don’t think I’ve read anything like it and that is super refreshing!

I’m like 99.9% this was set on Earth after a catastrophe (the moon splitting into 3 and basically sinking the world) but there were times where I was like, IS this Earth because what the fuck lmao

Collapse was the gods' punishment. Humankind might be surviving at the moment, but the gods would always win in the end.

The thing I really didn’t like? The MMC has a girlfriend. I do not read books with cheating, physical or emotional, and that aspect was a huge turn off. (view spoiler)

Why did other-born need to prove their worth to the world by servicing a city that kept pushing them to the fringes whatever chance it got?
