Suicide Squad, Volume 2: Basilisk Rising
by Adam Glass
Oh boy. You know, I thought a bunch of maniacs put together to carry out missions would be fun based on their individual, unstable characters and how that would play out when they were all tossed together, but this second volume was even worse than the first!
The story is a mess and the characters flatter than ever and they are often dying for no reason at all (for example). Moreover, all that preaching from Diablo ... no, just no. Not to mention that the writer(s) seriously tried to make me believe that a guy like Boomerang knew and used the expression TEMPUS FUGIT. Yeah, right!
The only good character was Nana. Oh and King Shark made me chuckle twice. But that's it and that is really bad.
I had to force myself to finish this and was sorely disappointed, even more than by the first volume, so if this doesn't pick up soon ...
