The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris
5.0
What a great American! Speaks 6 languages, wrote 35 books wins a Medal of Honor for leading Cavalry charge uphill against an entrenched enemy, Cowboy, NYC Police Commissioner and Governor, all by age 40. Mr. Morris discussed how TR would write observations about history though the lens of currents events in his life. In 2016, an election year I see parallels in today's political landscape to TR's era. Once again anti-establishment candidate's are confounding conventional wisdom. Mr. Morris does a phenomenal job is illustrating what a extraordinary individual Theodore Roosevelt was and in bringing to life the early period of his life. I would recommended this book to any student of history as well as anyone looking for perspective with today's political landscape.
