Never Fall for Your Fake Fiancé (especially not on Valentine's Day) by Kate O'Keeffe

funny lighthearted relaxing medium-paced

4.5

So cute, I love a fake dating/engaged book.

Lottie is head over heels in like with her coworker Matt who won't give her the time of day. She's also being bugged by her mother always over her lack of relationships.

James is a Deputy Mayor who is seen as a playboy but feels it hurts his image for his wanting to be Mayor one day.

They meet in unusual circumstances and enter into an agreement to be fake engaged for 6 months. He feels he can help her get the guy she wants.

I love these two. Although Lottie is a bit short sighted when it comes to Matt (I was so happy and shouted for joy when she realizes what a douchebag he is) she is fun. James is such a gentleman! My favorite part was when their mums meet... They are instantly friends and take to embarrassing the two "lovebirds".

Of course in the end, you know where it goes if you read these types of books often, but it didn't make me smile and sigh any less!
