Sold as a spiritual successor to The Man in the High Castle, this was an interesting book. It time hopped/had flashback sections that set up why and how the protagonists were acting as they did. A good read. This was a "war drama" that didn't focus directly on the war, or describing the battles and fighting. It still felt fast paced and that the protagonists are in peril with each progression. The ending revealed a great twist to the protagonist. I didn't see the end game completely; for that I give the author full credit. I wish we could explore the new universe created here in more depth. I feel like there are options for doing so, and I hope the author returns to this 'verse sometime again.
