Body Double by Tess Gerritsen

5.0

This is the fourth book in the Rizzoli and Isles series, and I enjoyed this one just as much as the others in the series! As in the third in the series, Maura Isles is the main focus of the story, and I enjoyed her much more as the protagonist this time around! The story begins with the discovery of a murdered woman who looks exactly like Isles - only to discover that this is her long lost twin sister (Isles was adopted). The search to discover more about the sister and what led to her murder opens up another case (which of course draws Rizzoli further into the plot).

What I really love about Gerritsen in each of the books I have read is that she is able to throw a twist in that I never saw coming. Too often in thrillers the murderer is evident early on, but this is not the case with Gerritsen! I often find myself sure that I have figured the case out, only to be (happily) surprised with the ending. I love that she does not take the predictable route as it makes the books that much more satisfying!

I was happy where the characters ended up at the end, although I am questioning if Isles will ever get a decent (and not unattainable) love interest. I can't wait to read the next installment and find out what happens with Jane!
