I'll Look for You, Everywhere by Cameron Capello

3.0

“I wish for seashells to capture that sound, that beautiful laugh, so when I hold it up to my ear, I can hear him instead of the sea”

There was a lot that I loved about this book. The writing style was stunning, there were many lines in this book that were so beautifully crafted. I also loved the pacing. I continuously wanted to pick this book up when I wasn’t reading it. I liked most of the characters, especially Magdalen and her father. I SOBBED at the ending that was heartbreaking. I didn’t need normal people pt.2 IM WEAK.

The romance unfortunately just didn’t work for me. It was hard to believe these two characters were in love when from the beginning there was a sexual note to every thought and feeling. The way Theo talked about Magdalen almost solely in a sexual way made it so hard to root for the couple or to believe they are truly in love and destined to be together. He was also so unnecessarily cruel and mean to her at times I truly could not understand how Magdalen forgave him time and time again. I understand he was dealing with things but it felt like punishment that she had to endure it and it made it difficult for me to want them to fix things.

Overall I would 100% read more from Cameron Capello and would love to see where her writing journey takes her I just wish this beautiful prose translated to more within the romance aspect.
