I remember hearing about this series in high school but never getting around to reading it.
I am glad I finally tackled it because it was such a rewarding read!
The journey through teenage-dom is a pretty world changing experience, but exponentially more so for the characters in this novel. Marsden does well to echo the massive changes Ellie sees in the world around her with those she is experiencing inside her self. As the life they knew changes, they find new things about themselves and new uses for their rural skills.
