This was my first Jack Reacher novel to read. I definitely enjoyed it. There is a good steady stream of action and suspense that made this book hard for me to put down. Based on that, it should have been a 5 star book, but I just couldn't bring myself to give it five stars. The writing style and the tone of Jack Reacher's nonchalant tough guy first person narration is just a little too stylized, even cliche. I actually enjoyed that style a lot, but it still kind of cheapens the experience. This story is an excellent piece of light entertainment, but it is not a truly brilliant book.
