Review of The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen:

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

“In my marriage, there were three truths, three alternate and sometimes competing realities. There was Richard’s truth. There was my truth. And there was the actual truth, which is always the most elusive to recognize.”

Nellie and Vanessa are two very different women yet connected by the same man - Richard. Vanessa can hardly keep herself together following the end of her marriage. She moves in with her aunt, can barely maintain her job, and lives in an alcoholic haze most days - yet shockingly the one thing that seemingly shifts her into a state of clarity is hearing that Richard is remarrying. Now Vanessa’s sole drive is to stop the marriage from happening. Only problem is - will anyone believe her or will they just think she’s a jealous and spiteful ex-wife?

The Wife Between Us is not at all what you think it is or will be. Just when you think you know where the storyline is going - BAM! - Part 2 starts. Between the jealousy, rage, gaslighting and manipulation, this book is every bit a twisted psychological thriller. Trying to piece together the puzzle wasn’t easy because as with all thrillers, a piece would be taken out and replaced with another. While the book was a relatively slow burn, the short chapters made for a quick paced read. I don’t know how they do it but the writing is seamless and you’d never know two authors wrote this book. I will say though, the twist that started Part 2 was so distracting - I spent more time trying to make sense of Part 1 that it took away from the story. And although nearly all of the loose ends were tied up by the end of the book, I still had questions! Some theories for sure made sense but some parts didn’t have a clear explanation and I need that closure. That said - this book will have your head spinning at most parts and others you’ll be filled with rage.
