The Valley of Horses by Jean M. Auel

4.0

this book took me on a wild ride for sure, i was fascinated by the tools ancient humans used and how we think they made them; loved the take on the beginning of pets and domestication and how a lonely human reaches out to other animals for companionship; learned the meteorological patterns that occur around a glacier which was super cool. which was why it threw me for a loop when there was like random smut sprinkled in there? and not even good smut? like there’s only so many times my own two eyes can read the word throbbing before i start skipping through it.

did consider giving it 3 stars but i’m like 1000+ pages deep into investing into these characters so i will be continuing the series to figure out what happens to them and the book gets at least 4 for convincing me to go on. plus i know how glaciers influence the weather now which is sick
