Ghosts of the Shadow Market
by Cassandra Clare
4.5 stars! I loved this bindup. It gave so much insight into the Shadowhunter world, I loved seeing it through the eyes of Brother Zachariah/Jem Carstairs.
Cast Long Shadows - This one was so good! I love Matthew Fairchild, and I felt so bad for him in this. He deserves the world but the world doesn't deserve him. Also that moment between Brother Zachariah and Will killed me.
Every Exquisite Thing - Hella gay and hella good. Anna Lightwood is my butch lesbian queen and you will have to pry her from my cold dead hands. I love Ariadne too, and Cecily Herondale being a supportive mom added ten years to my lifespan.
Learn About Loss - I liked this one. I didn't like it as much as the others, maybe because there wasn't any other big characters in it. I did love the setting though, and Sister Emilia was great. The moment where Will and Jem just got to have fun in China was so sweet.
A Deeper Love - This one was really cool! I loved seeing Tessa Gray and Catarina Loss helping out in WW2. We saw Brother Zachariah starting off on his quest for the Lost Herondales, and him kissing Tessa. I didn't like this one as much as the others though.
The Wicked Ones - I. Loved. This one. Celine Montclaire deserves better and I will say it until she gets the good things she deserves. She was an abused child that was manipluted by everyone around her, and she deserved a chance to raise Jace. I also loved seeing Brother Zachariah and Rosemary Herondale, she was so interesting.
Son of the Dawn - This was so good. We got to see the TMI characters, which was so amazing. Raphael and Lily are my favorite vampires, Lily's nicknames for Brother Zachariah were the absolute best. Alec's crush on Rapheal ghsbhghiuuosbh then seeing Jace and totally forgetting about it? Iconic. Isabelle Lightwood? Iconic. Jace Herondale? Iconic. Brother Zachariah? Iconic.
The Land I Lost - THE BEST. Oh my god. Alec Lightwood being an iconic king in my TSC book? It's more likely then you think. Lily Chen and her iconic nicknames strikes again, her backstory was heartbreaking. Also Max Lightwood-Bane is the cutest and deserves the world, I would die for him. And Rafael!! He gets a home!!
Through Blood, Through Fire - I liked this one. We got to see Tessa and Jem on their quest to find the Lost Herondale (aka my son Kit). I loved getting to see more of Rosemary and her life, and seeing the battle at Kit's house through Tessa's eyes.
The Lost World - Ty and Livvy omg. I loved seeing ghost!Livvy, and I also loved seeing Ty again. He's great. We also got some insight into what's happening in Idris, which kind of scares me. I'm also a little concerned for Livvy. She's seems fine right now, but something weird happened outside of Idris.
Forever Fallen - kjzgbjkgb jkgho. That's it. This gave us two perspectives. One was Jem being happy with Tessa and Kit and Wilhelmina (I love her so much). The other was Thule!Jace, aka Janus, wreaking havoc and making me very nervous. I did like his POV, but he almost killed Max which is unacceptable. I loved getting to see Jem being a dad to Kit and Kit getting the love he deserved.
