I wish I loved this more than I did. The way gender was handled was interesting. I do wish it didn’t still feel so binary, but it was still nice, and I know it’s just the first book so maybe other ones go into it more?
I do like fast paced stories, but with the huge time jumps accentuating the speed it felt awkward and very focused on specific events to the point where it felt more like a collection of short stories rather than a cohesive whole.
I’m glad I read it, and there were some interesting ideas, I just wasn’t blown away. I would have liked to see the characters relationships flashed out more between the time skips.
