Gentlemen of the Road by Michael Chabon

My favorite part was the author's note at the end: Jews with Swords. I listened to this on audio, and found some of the names/groups a bit difficult to follow, which I'm sure would not have been so in print. Although this short adventure tale is not my favorite kind of book, I do love the Jewish "subjects" of Chabon's books--so unexpected, fanciful and steeped in truisms and history at the same time. The Yiddish Policemen's Union is still my favorite, narrated by Peter Riegert, who went to my camp so I consider him a friend.
