This book holds up to when I first read it years ago. It makes you think and examin the world around you. The injustices, the cruelty, the ways those in power will do anything to maintain even just the semblance of control.
The movies have never done justice to just how dark and heart breaking it all is. These children being punished for the perceived "sins" of their ancestors and made examples of for everyone to stay in line.
I cried just as hard and continue to see just why this is the book people constantly try to emulate and unfortunately come no where near.
