The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen

OH MY GOD
This has to be one of the best domestic suspense or thrillers written ever!!! The amount of twists in this book is unfathomable! Each one is more surprising than the last!
In part one you believe you’re going back and forth between the ex wife and the new fiancé then at the end of part one you find out that they are the same person! The new fiancé is actually the main character and ex wife Vanessa from the beginning of her relationship with Richard(ex husband).
The second part is all about Vanessa/nellie(Richard’s nickname for her) trying to stop his marriage to Emma, Emma is Richard’s assistant turned mistress who he is now engaged to. During the beginning of part two you’re under the impression that Vanessa wants to get Richard back but you find out that this is not the case in another twist! Richard was abusive and Vanessa felt as though she couldn’t leave or he would kill her. So she wants to make him think it’s his idea to leave her. She plots behind the scenes and basically makes it seem as though Emma would be a much better wife.
After her plan works she feels bad because she realizes that innocent Emma was caught in the crossfire and she wanted to save her from Richard. At this point you find out that in college Vanessa became pregnant by a professor. she ended up leaving a sorority hazing ceremony to confront him and she finds out he has a whole family. While she is confronting her professor and finding out about his wife her little (in the sorority) ends up drowning at the hazing. She blames herself for this and doesn’t want to hurt another innocent woman (Emma).
In part three after many efforts Richard finally snaps in-front of Emma and his sister and assaults Vanessa. All is well and she can finally move on now that Emma and her are safe. Though unexpectedly the epilogue holds the last twist. Emma is her professors daughter and she thought that it was Vanessa’s intention to break up her parents all those years ago. Emma moved to New York to steal Vanessa’s husband and ruin her life! Emma finally admits this to Vanessa and she is more understanding than expected. There is so much more that happens in this book but I’d literally have to write a five page minimum essay to explain it all so I’ll leave it at that. So many twists that are all perfectly revealed to leave you on the edge of your seat each part. Absolutely incredible! Highly recommend.
