A Gentleman in Moscow
by Amor Towles
I quite enjoyed this book. The word I would use to describe it is "whimsical". I loved the setting of the hotel, all the characters were wonderful, and the prose was great. I loved the character of the Count, though I found him sometimes one dimensional. The only thing that kept it from a full five stars for me was the sometimes detached nature I felt while reading. It is hard to pinpoint exactly where that feeling originated from, but I had it nonetheless during many of its most heartfelt scenes. I would wholeheartedly recommend this text.
