Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

I did not expect to enjoy this book so much and I was pleasantly surprised. It's my first dive into dark academia and yeah it is DARK. Also, it's important to read the content warnings as there are some triggering topics just FYI. It's a slow start and the story doesn't really pick up until page 200, but as expected of the first book in a series I've gotten used to plot setup/world building. I do wish that the explanation of all the Houses was in the beginning of the book bc I had such a hard time keeping track of which House did what.
Other than that, I enjoyed delving into the secret societies of Yale, Lethe House, and magic, with a side of murder mystery.

Also, I love Alex + Darlington 🥺
