Death in Time by Robyn Nyx

5.0

Death In Time by Robyn Nyx is the third and final book in The Extractor series. It is science fiction with a lot of action thrown in and romance as well. It is a fantastic read and the perfect end to the series.

The story picks up where book two ends so it really is a must to read all the books in order. This book was slightly different than the previous two in that Nyx spent a good portion of the book looking at the personal relationships between Landry and the women in her life. Landry is the highly capable, brash and closed-off hero of the trilogy. She is able to set everything aside for her missions. She performs her missions as an extractor to make changes in the past to make a better future. When we first meet her in book one, she is a soldier first and nothing else. But here in book three, she has become so much more. She has a girlfriend, a mother, a best friend, dear friends and an honorary niece. We see her world grow and watch her emotional growth over the course of the novels. The redemptive power of love is a huge take-away from this book. There were more than a few times where I found myself on the verge of tears while reading some of Landry’s conversations with her best friend Delaney.

This isn’t to say that there isn’t a good amount of thrill and suspense. Nyx writes fantastic action scenes and deftly throws in plot twists along the way. I really found myself pausing to try and wrap my mind around the various time jumps and playing out their ramifications. There are two new characters added to the mix which brings just the right amount of freshness to the series.

I loved this book and this series. I can’t wait to see what this author has planned next.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
