Simulacra and Simulation by Jean Baudrillard
4.5
adventurous challenging dark funny informative inspiring mysterious reflective sad tense slow-paced

Mind blowing book that revolutionized the way I think and see the world. Incredible how much Baudrillard foresaw given the media landscape > 40 years ago. First 25% is incredible, middle 50% kinda slows down and is less interesting, last 25% returns to peak. There’s a couple bad takes/poorly researched bits, like the Tasaday part and the Clone Story, but they’re skippable or the errors are minor and don’t really detract from his points. Please forgive him he don’t got internet. Dense with jargon and a very tough read, but very much worth it.
