I have several books in this series and finally got to read the first one. It was a solid "crimi" - even though it was not that hard to figure out the ending. Obviously, the author is in love with Venice - one might say that it's better fleshed out than actual characters. It's hard to imagine Venice like it's described in the book - a relatively quiet city, at least in winter. Last 30 years of tourism and immigration didn't do wonders there.
