The heroine is a serial killer who is abducted by a mafia-esque family and she becomes their pet assassin and lover. Fun to read a story where the female lead character is unapologetically insane and violent! Reminded me of Den of Vipers but better writing quality. I liked how Lola had no issues about getting what she wanted from the various guys and hooked up with them early and often. I thought she had the best chemistry with Maddox, curious to see if her relationships with the other guys deepen in the later books.

Lola’s inner voice tended to ramble so there were a few times I skimmed. I was bummed we didn’t get to see her go out and kick ass besides the Mario and realtor scenes. And though I liked the steamy sex scenes, I also wasn’t sold on how
Spoilercomfortable she was having sex with the guys after her past trauma with her brother. This was a core, formative part of her psycho character yet she barely seems to let it affect her during actual sex, which I would think would be the most triggering event possible? But no, it was jealousy over Maddox and the sight of birth control pills that set her off.
