I often struggle with reading graphic novels as they come out, because they’re so quick to get through but take so long to release. I read volume 2 almost a year and a half ago. Today, I skimmed the last couple chapters before starting Vol 3, and had no memory of the events.

So while this volume was enjoyable, it didn’t have the connection to the previous two that I think would have made it feel more cohesive. It’s fun to see comics Keanu rip people apart, and learn who he is. As the final book, this one leans into his mystical origins, and goes further past the “ending” than I thought it would.

The art felt a little “sloppy,” but I’m not sure if that’s just because I hadn’t been in this style for a while. They definitely lean into that more when things are more chaotic, so it seems like a stylistic choice.
