Honestly? I had to look several times to see if Spotify had switched to a different book because this was not at all what I was expecting. There’s a lot of build up by being in first person absolutely made this book. It’s such a slow burn that you don’t really realize how gradually the main character is changing until the end, then you recognize it all at once before he does.
Be forewarned that it’s a solid 1/3+ of the book before he starts dating the titular trophy wife.
Absolutely loved this and listened to it in a day. I couldn’t stop once everything staring unfolding.
