Elantris by Brandon Sanderson

3.0

honestly takes a bit to get into, wasn't a fan of how each chapter is one of three characters and then it rotates in order. especially when the first two characters would have eventful chapters and then the third character would get like 1-2 pages and then be done. It felt like he was only given a chapter because Sanderson had committed to the bit rather than for him to have a story to tell that was equally as important to the overall narrative as Raoden and Sarene's. That being said I did find myself enjoying the story and finished it way faster than I thought I would considering the first quarter of the book felt pretty slow., if i could id give it a 3.5 but i dont know if i can personally justify giving it a 4. If the premise interests you give it a read or if you're a fan of his other work but I definitely see why people don't recommend this one as an introduction to the Cosmere or Sanderson's work.
