A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

5.0

This is the first book I can remember my mother reading to me and I remember being completely enamored by L'Engle's work. Her characters are relatable, the prose is beautiful, the story is interesting, and there are strong themes throughout that stay with the reader, even when the story is forgotten. It was like seeing an old friend which whom you lost touch. After reading this for the first time since I was a kid, I can attribute a lot of influence on my own writing and reading styles to L'Engle. In my opinion, it's one of the best children's classics ever written.
