An Artist's Dream by Kacey Sophia, Kacey Sophia
3.0
★★★
Thanks to Kacey Sophia, I was very fortunate to receive an ARC copy of her debut novella An Artist’s Dream.
I am a simple gal: give me a book with a lilac/lavender cover and I AM SOLD!
I knew this was going to be a fast read, I just wasn’t ready for HOW FAST! It felt a little slow in pace at the beginning that I wondered how much ground we were going to cover by the end of the book. To my surprise, we covered A LOT!
I liked the overall setup and vibe of this book, though I would have liked it to be a bit more slow. Despite this book being a novella, I felt the relationship between the two MCs was very rushed. The writing was very promising and I zoomed through it. I would’ve loved if things were a bit slower and we’re able to witness the MCs chemistry develop in more detail, regardless of how much time they actually spent together.
It does end in sort of a cliffhanger. The last page is set up perfectly for a sequel and I would not mind reading it in the future when it releases! I am very curious to see where the story goes and how all of the events following the ending unfold because I fear it will emotionally damage me c’:
Also! the nickname the MMC has for the FMC is ‘Puss’, and I know if I were Kaia, that name alone would land him with a kick to his bawls
"Maybe being cold was the right approach to avoid heartbreak..."
