I should have DNF’d this book the first time I got annoyed with it. My issues with it didn’t get better the longer I read! Finally decided at 75% to just skip to the end and see if the couple survived.
The MCs had the worst miscommunications issues and handled them horribly! It was as though every misunderstanding they had, they turned their backs on each other and stomped off like spoiled children. Then they instantly made up and the cycle repeated. The utterly ridiculously storyline around a “possible pregnancy” just pissed me off beyond belief. It was as though the FMC had no idea how women's bodies worked or how babies were made. I couldn't have eyerolled any harder.
This book cannot be read as a standalone. There was an entire story line around some character named Jessica/Jill that you won't understand but it's a major point of contension the entire read for both MCs. The author attempted to recap some of the past but it wasn't nearly enough and I was left so confused every single time the chick was brought up!
I could go on and on about how problematic this book was.
1 star for a FMC with a physical disability
1 star for the NFL player neighbor who took custody of his little sister and became a big softie!
