THE LESBIANA’S GUIDE TO CATHOLIC SCHOOL follows Yamilet Flores who has recently transferred to a mostly white, very rich Catholic school with her brother. After being outed by her crush and ex-best friend, she wants to fly under the radar and reside firmly in the closet. But it’s really hard to fake being straight when the openly queer girl at school is sooo cute. Yamile isn’t ready to come out, but it seems her heart didn’t get the memo.

I have to say I really enjoyed this book! I wanted to read it to continue my wlw reads in June and because the plot really intrigued me. I was not disappointed. It’s a great contemporary romance, but also it also explores family and identity really well. Yamile is complicated but earnest and I fell in love with the side characters. I wish the ending wouldn’t have been so rough and there was one plot point that caught me off guard, but overall, it’s a great story about religion, love and courage. Definitely recommend!
