This was a book that can raise up your anxiety meter. Lalami does a good job of writing about Sra's stress and frustration so well that I felt it as well. The mere fact that she is retained over nonsensical occurrences like dreams and the potentially of being held is wild but is it? There are parallels to our current reality that definitely question how quickly one's freedom is taken for granted and who pulls the strings, and how quickly they can be snipped. Great read for a book club or buddy read.
