*Over half way through the audio book right now* I always feel bad giving harsh reviews but man… This is definitely written by/for older millennials or younger gen x. A lot of the humor made me whence. The initial romantic and intimate feelings that weren’t outwardly shared made me so uncomfortable. I cannot imagine thinking some of the things these characters think in the specific situations they are in. I very much enjoy the setting and the magic. But boy howdy is it hard to get past the not endearing awkwardness.
*Editing after finishing* Ok so as corny as a lot of it was I honestly really enjoyed it. Yes the main characters (full grown adults) have a lot of growing up to do. Yes I continued to literally physically cringe through out the book. But. The tiny town, the coziness and the low stakes mystery just got me. Not a high brow read nor will it be at the top of my recommendations but gosh darnit did I have a good time listening. A good, cozy little mystery.
I will say in regards to the female narrator seemed to get the voices a bit mixed up which at times made it confusing.
