This was a slow read for the first half of the book or more, and that’s where it loses the most points for me. I knew Jude was lying, but Kat was slow on the uptake, so there was a lot of sitting there, staring at the page, wondering when she was going to do something already. Once she did get the memo and started to take action, the pace became much better. Mysteries unraveled, old sins came to light, relationships were tested. That’s the stuff a good story is made of — even if it does take 200 pages to get there.
