I find it interesting how the children's books of Star Trek are so much harder and slower to read than the adult novels. And they're in no way badly written. In fact, this one here even went into the depth of exploring trauma and how that can affect you, so it's not as emotionally superficial as most children's book tend to be and does reach into the one realm where adult books are usually better in than children's books: meaningful depth.

But still I struggled with it and have no idea why.
