What a second instalment. This hot AF, spicy, small-town romantic suspense series keeps delivering. Bourbon & Secrets brings the heat, the tension, and a dash of danger... and I devoured every second of it.

Lincoln and Faye do not get off on the right foot. He told her to leave town five years ago when he suspected she was hiding something, and she listened. But now she's back—thanks to some undercover work and a sister in trouble—and living next door to the single dad.

The dislike-to-love tension paired with forced proximity is perfection. These two have strong personalities, and when the tension finally breaks... let's just say the book's not lacking in spice. Faye's burlesque side gig only turns up the heat. Also, single dad Lincoln removing his glasses before spitting bourbon in her mouth? It's hot. I said what I said.

But it's not all steam. I love the heartfelt connections Faye forms with his daughters. They're sweet, sassy, and totally charming, adding softness to the fire.

The suspense thread keeps things moving quickly, building into a darker, grittier ending than I expected, but one that I'm into. There's a twist I didn't see coming that makes the ride even more intense.

Now onto the audiobook's delicious duet narration. Megan is on fire this year, and her slightly raspy tone was perfect for Faye's confident, don't-mess-with-me energy. Lee Samuels is also criminally underrated. He is Lincoln, capturing every layer and making me fall for him even harder.

I'm already desperate for the next book. How long do I have to wait? Seriously. I need more.

Thank you to Home Cooked Book Promos for the early audio copy.
