How to Have a Good Day: Harness the Power of Behavioral Science to Transform Your Working Life by Caroline Webb

3.0

This book is a wonderful survey of many of the seminal research papers and recent books relating to psychology, neuroscience, and behavioral economics. Webb offers a synthesis of all these works into a framework of her own creation, along with stories of how to apply various techniques to make your day a "good" one. For those who have not studied coaching or personal development in depth, this book will be a fantastic overview of many crucial principles. For those who have, the book will also serve as a nice reminder of many of the things that can be applied to make every day a little better than before. As for me, I rate the book three stars due to the fact that I tend to prefer books that go "an inch wide and a mile deep" and this one is much more of a 10,000-foot view of things. I have also read many of the books being referenced by Webb in detail (and apply what those books have taught me in my coaching practice). The book didn't have much in the way of new content for me. That said, I'll be turning to it as a reference I'm sure. I was most interested in the bibliography and will be checking out these citations and research studies!
