A King's Ransom by Sharon Kay Penman

5.0

This is the last of Penman's Angevin dynasty books, and the final installment in the story of Richard the Lionhearted and Eleanor of Aquitaine, surely one of the most remarkable mother -son combinations in history. I found it engrossing but it is a tragic tale too. And as always, this is indeed very accurate and meticulously researched history, written like a sprawling novel. Thanks again for the remarkable evocation of medieval times and people, Ms. Penman. There is no one like you.
