Vanish by Sophie Jordan

3.0

Wow, cliffhanger much?

Unfortunately, Vanish does not live up to the goodness of the first book. Jacinda is incredibly indecisive in this book. Understandable, since she is very confused, but the story kept going back and forth, back and forth. Could she really run away, and leave behind her family, or could she actually stay in the pride and just completely forget about Will? Honestly these two were the only things that comprised the chapters from beginning to the middle. I felt like nothing very significant happened in the middle chapters. The first few chapters were definitely good. Sophie Jordan has a way of capturing your attention right at the beginning. But she kind of lost it after that.

Thankfully things did pick up towards the end. Jacinda is finally able to think straight, and she ultimately decides what she wants to do. Really though, I feel so bad for Cassian. He's not so bad, and I am annoyed at Jacinda for being so snippy when it comes to him.

I am so looking forward to how this all ends. For now, I can't quite see how the author will work things out - things are extremely complicated now - but I hope she did a good job. Off to the last book!
