High Voltage by Karen Marie Moning

4.0

I sat on this book for 2 years and finally went in and read it. For reference, I read the first 5 Fever books back to back when it was thought that it was a completed series. I adore Mac and Barrons. I hated both Ryodan and Dani. I was not a reader that hated Iced though. I would love to go back to read it again. As the series continued, I began to feel deflated a bit and let down by it. I especially feel there is inconsistency about the beast form between what happened at the end of Dreamfever with Barrons beast and how Ryodan can shift at will.

So essentially I went in with low expectations. There were not many scenes with Dani and Ryodan and there was a lot of time waiting for things to happen. I missed Mac but that is always my complaints about the newer books. This was a book about Dani’s evolution and was very Dani centric. She is not the Dani of the first 5 books or of Iced and not even of Feverborn. She has evolved and changed and grown. The ending was amazing. I am mostly satisfied at the moment.
