The Darkest Night
by Gena Showalter
i wished this had been executed better because this had a lot of promising ideas but overall it just fell so so short.
as a romance i felt there was no great set up for the relationship so it inevitably felt super insta-lovey and weak. on the paranormal/magic sense, it was set up fine but one of the main mysteries of the book (revolving around our female MC) was never really answered?
and of course this suffered from the classic misogyny and general hetero (slightly homophobic) writing that a lot of paranormal books have but it all just felt so glaring in this book.
i will say i am interested in a few of the other characters who were introduced in this book though so i might read a few of the other ones ABSDJADK
