When Edith Hind’s boyfriend discovers blood in their home, the door open and her missing it seems that she may well have fallen victim to a crime. This discovery prompts a high-profile missing persons investigation, not least because her father is good friends with the Home Secretary.
Before too long the investigation uncovers some rather puzzling leads. Could Edith’s love life be at the heart of her disappearance, or is there a more sinister link to her more than passing acquaintance with a convicted rapist? When the body of a young black boy is discovered in the area, it appears there could be links to Edith.
Our lead detective, DS Manon Bradshaw, is not the easiest of characters to like. The family and friends of the missing person aren’t particularly likeable. A lot of time seems to pass with not much happening and then, before you know it, all the loose ends are tied up and sorted.
