A big miss for me unfortunately. It had a lot of promise but did not have what I needed to consider it charming.

For the first few chapters you don't really understand why Mia hates Lauryn and elicits such a negative response. What is more baffling is why Lauryn keeps trying to get in Mia's good graces. It takes a little to long to reveal the reason and then we go immediately into building the romance, very little downtime and processing in-between two very strong feelings.

This is the second time trying out this author and I suspect their writing style is not for me. They seem to write non-white sapphic leads so it is quite a shame. I would recommend giving Shea a try if you are on the fence, the story was short and to the point it was just missing some fluff that I need to really settle into a read.
