This book is exactly what I love in a fantasy romance! A sizzling romance between a Fae and human with political intrigue and espionage. The FMC was strong in a different way to other books I've read. She showed her strength in overcoming and dealing with lifelong trauma. She is independent and gets things done that are needed all while showing an amazing demonstration of feminine rage! I loved the sarcastic interactions between the main characters and how his reactions to her helped to grow her confidence. I was giggling and blushing away at some of his dialogue when it came to Kat. (New book boyfriend alert) The solidarity in female friendship between Kat and Ella was also one of my favourite parts. There were twists and turns throughout and after that end, I cannot wait for the next book. Definitely going to read some more by Clare Sager in the meantime.
