Maybe Stephen King just isn't for me. This my 2nd book from him and at least Misery picked up. This book was just awful to me. I didn't like the way it was written. The characters were pretty dense. I don't think the storyline was well told. It just seemed pretty surface level. And just not what I expected it to be. And the subtle racism and fat phobic (maybe it was written like that because of the time period) I found unnecessary.
Graphic: Body horror, Body shaming, Bullying, Child abuse, Genocide, Physical abuse, Blood, Murder, and Fire/Fire injury
Moderate: Cursing, Death, Fatphobia, and Death of parent
Minor: Racial slurs, Racism, Self harm, and Religious bigotry
